Flying
Flying powered aircraft within the ATC will normally take two forms, either
as opportunity flights within annual camp’s or more commonly at one of
the AEF Squadrons. An Air Experience Flight will normally
last for 20-25 minutes and will be flown in the civilian registered Grob 115E
Tutor a 2-seat side by side trainer that replaced the military owned Bulldog. On
arrival at the AEF Squadron you will be shown a safety video on the Tutor,
afterwards you will be kitted out with a flying suit, parachute and lifejacket
before being taken to the aircraft.
During the flight you will be given the opportunity to try out some basic flying
maneuvers and maybe given the chance to experience some aerobatics.
